Apolo Black and Red on Orange Polychrome is identified by a streaky orange slip over a white base coat, and then with painted decoration in black and/or red. Subtypes of Apolo are Sencillo, Geometrico, and Elegante, depending on the degree of elaboration in design. Apolo Polychrome is diagnostic of the Cholollan period, especially Late Cholollan (1400-1550 CE).
