Welcome to the evolving home page of Ancient Mesoamerica, a scholarly journal from Cambridge University Press devoted to the ancient cultures of Mexico and Central America. The goal of this web page is to provide information and links to facilitate scholarship, exchange, and dialogue.
Tabs across the top link to developing features:
Pipeline is a preview of coming attractions, listing tentative table of contents for forthcoming issues of the journal, with abstracts, to encourage visitors to drop everything and send CUP their subscription info.
News and Events provides information on upcoming conferences of interest to AM readers, and announcements that might be of interest, such as awards or opportunities.
Tell Tales includes 'tales from the field,' brief reports of ongoing field investigations; and although I realize that most of us do not work at 'tells', per se, I like the title (other suggestions welcome).
Resources provides web links to useful resources for Mesoamerican scholars, including links to researchers' personal web pages and archaeological project pages.
Ceramoteca is designed as a clearinghouse for ceramic (and other artifact class) typologies, where researchers can easily access images of objects for comparison or can post images of problematic artifacts so that other researchers can offer advice.
